When looking for a home, we have found many people keep their furry friend’s needs at the top of the list. We thought we’d rate some popular neighborhoods in the area on their dog-friendly options to help you narrow down your home search. To start we rated Red Bank, a popular neighborhood due to the affordability of the homes, the quiet suburban atmosphere, and the proximity to the downtown area.
We considered the following when rating the neighborhood; Access to Dog-Friendly Parks & Adventures, Close to Dog-Friendly Restaurants, Sidewalks, and Land.
Dog Park Options
Maintained walking paths, covered pavilion, picnic tables, and centrally located in Red Bank, White Oak is a gem for Red Bank dog owners. White Oak also includes the Red Bank Dog Park, which is an off-leash dog park, so it has plenty of options for your furry friend!
Red Bank may only have one dog-friendly park in name but it has many other green spaces that locals can enjoy. It is also close to Stringers Ridge and the Greenway. This gives dog owners plenty of options no matter what part of Red Bank they live in. Therefore, we give Red Bank an 8/10 in the dog-friendliness park scale!
All three of these eating establishments offer outdoor seating where you can bring your dog. Dubs is a wonderful place to walk to in the warmer months with your furry friend for those summer staples or a delicious dipped cone. Close by, Pizzeria Cortile is a wonderful local pizza place that welcomes your furry friends in their covered patio seating space. Lastly, Mojo Burrito also offers you a covered patio where you can enjoy your burrito in peace with your dog companion.
UPDATE: Apparently we missed a place and so we felt the need to share some new found knowledge we just learned. Big Frog Brewing Company welcomes dogs as well in their craft beer veteran-owned brewery! You find out something new everyday!
For the diverse options, if somewhat limited, we give Red Bank Restaurants a 6/10 when it comes to dog-friendliness!
When it comes to sidewalks, Red Bank is hard to beat. The entire area has sidewalks galore and has even put in new crosswalks recently on the main road. Where there are no sidewalks, there are large neighborhood roads where many walk their dog safely and enjoy their neighborhood. For this reason, we give Red Bank a 10/10 when it comes to having plenty of safe spaces to walk your best friend!
One of the most important criteria for dog-owners looking to buy a home is the yard space. Red Bank has the benefit of being an affordable area right outside of Chattanooga with a lot more yard potential. While there are apartments and condos available within the area, the average home has plenty of yard space for your furry friend. Therefore, we give Red Bank a 10/10 when it comes to land availability.
All tallied up, Red Bank is a great area for dog owners and those looking for a dog-friendly neighborhood!
